explores

For this ship journey I need to take ten different items of food to survive my journey, for this journey I would like to take lots of different foods including, protein, fruit & veges, carbohydrates and calcium plus a little sweets. this means I will stay healthy and fit on my journey. 
  1. for protein I the first thing I chose to take was beef jerky. the reason why I chose beef jerky is because it packs a lot of protein and it lasts for a while.  it tastes really good and is a dried meat so doesn't need a fridge or freezer.  
  2. for protein the next thing in chose is tinned tuna. tinned tuna is really good for you as its high in protein and will last much longer than other foods. its easy to store and easy to open and eat. it tastes great
  3. for protein the last thing I have chosen to take is nuts because there is a large variety to chose from. they are simple and good to eat. they also last quite a long time. they are very healthy to eat. 
  4. for carbohydrates the first thing I chose to take is bread mix. the reason I chose bread mix is because it is easy and simple to make just by adding water, as i'm on the boat water is easy to get. carbohydrates give me energy so I wont be as tired on the boat. 
  5. the next carbohydrate I have chosen to take is rice. rice is easy to make and it goes a long way so you don't need to keep cooking rice over and over. rice is also packed with a lot of carbohydrates. it tastes yummy and it would go well with my protein choices. 
  6. the next carbohydrate i'm taking is potatoes. potatoes can be made into lots of different foods like potato chips, hot chips, mashed potatoes and hash browns. potatoes are also vegetables and vegetables are good for me helping me stay healthy. 
  7. the next thing i'm taking is a fruit and that is a coconut. I chose a coconut because it can be a drink and a food. it will be easy to keep for a long time. fruit gives you natural sugars so that is good for me. now that I have my fruit and vegetables it means I can get my 5+ a day. 
  8. the next thing i would take is tomato sauce because I cant have potatoes without tomato sauce. it has lots of sugars and also tomatoes too. 
  9.  the next thing I will take is multi vitamins. I chose multi vitamins because it packs a lot of different vitamins and minerals which are really good for you. that means it will help me to not get sick on the ship because of the multi vitamins. also means I don't have to take as much fruit. 
  10. for sweets/calcium I chose to take chocolate because chocolate tastes really good and it has lots of sugar to give me energy plus it has calcium to help my bones stay strong. it also pays to have a treat once and a while.

    I really like what you have chosen for your ocean voyage. It’s cool that you listed a food and explained why you felt it was one of the best things to bring on the voyage. Your explanations are fantastic and well thought out! I also like how you have included carbs, proteins, and fruits/veggies to ensure your crew stays healthy. You’ve constructed a brilliant diet plan.

    I notice you included coconuts which are a brilliant source of water, food, and can even be used for sunscreen. What a brilliant thing to include, yummy too!

    It would be really awesome if you could include pictures or colours into your post to really engage your readers. Perhaps you could look at these tips for making eye catching blog posts to help or grab some inspiration.
